Ah, how time has flown by

The AG3000 & AG8000's have aged quite nicely I might add. They're quite comparable to the '01 Chateau Lafite Rothschild in that regard -- albeit representative of another vice entirely :D

Greetings. I've yet to hear the M30.1 in the comfort of home albeit in another system with which I have a considerable bit of familiarity (it's currently a foster home for some of my source components & an astonishingly large number of my LP's). That being said I may have to make a visit over the Ho...

Congrats on a great show!

I've typically missed most of the audio shows due to their location or issues surrounding our itinerary around the time of the event. Frankly it's tough to jump in a plane bound for Vegas with everything else going on these days. However as this one was in my area I decided to stop by & tour the Axp...

If you haven't yet tried the BC6000 line conditioner I seriously encourage you to do so when opportunity permits.

If you think the picture looks nice -- it sounds even better  :D

I'm convinced that someone could write a thesis on how improvements in power supply design enhance sound quality using the products BC501 as the test cases. Unfortunately life is short & I'd rather leave that task to better men & women to accomplish. That said I'll happily share my candid thoughts t...

DD' -- In this case the NSL+DIDR was rolling with a pair of Meadowlark Heron i's. While tempting to ferry the tandem up the two flights of stairs to demo with the JM Lab Utopias -- better judgement won out for now  :D You're quite right that specs don't seem to be nearly as relevant as face-va...

I had a chance to take the NSL for a spin this weekend. In all respects I am most impressed with the outcome. For purposes of the audition I was listening to the unit while running off of the DIDR battery power supply. While the technical design may defy conventional audiophile logic the sound is ou...

Most certainly -- we all have our own perspective of what we're looking in terms of sound & what we are aiming to accomplish. Fortunately G's current product line covers the gambit. Long term his willingness to update prior designs to include new concepts he's developed significantly adds to the val...

bjh --

Ya know if you invested in the BC phono stage -- Gilbert's known to come up with excellent new updates for them even several years down the road. Then you'd always have the best.

Just sayin' ;-)

Unfortunately this is one of those 'ears of the beholder' sort of questions. Rather than dance around the question because of it; I'd suggest simply trying it & deciding for yourself. If you don't hear a difference it's not a downgrade regardless of what anyone else might suggest. Once you get past ...

On the subject of driver interpretation -- I still find David Hermeyer's original work a monument to the original development of the modern ESL. Sure you could say in some respects it was a diamond in the rough; but so was Les Paul's first effort when he started. Granted it's a major stretch to sugg...

Farewell to Les Paul

I'm very sad to hear the patriarch of the electric guitar & musical legend has passed away -- my sincere thoughts go out to his family & friends.

Good stuff. In terms of comparisons IMHO putting the BC703 up against another phono stage isn't fair let alone one that constitutes a significantly higher investment. I'd rather head to the Newport Jazz Festival & listen to the LP's on the BC703 when I return. Seriously though I do feel the sound re...

Theory aside -- if anyone is investing the time & labor to develop a rock solid power supply that's Gilbert. When in doubt ask, as he'd likely build you an even bigger power supply where physical space permits. All provided that you simply ask him nicely & reimburse him accordingly  :D
