Clave, it goes something like this....first off, these speakers were designed for small to medium sized rooms. 2 to 3 feet will work fine from the back wall. Try to keep away from the corners if possible. If you can use the width as in the longer wall, even better. As they are stand mounted, you wil...

Your observations about the 30.1 are quite correct. It is simply an amazing speaker that is extremely complete within the parameters in which it operates. I once owned Quad ESL's and this is the closest a box speaker has come to an electrostatic without the pitfalls. Probably one of the nicest integ...

No, how you go about building the pipe is not an issue. The only concern is the possibility of RF creeping thru. Had this problem originally with phone lo thingee/biggie pipe.

Bob, that is exactly it. I do not want to change the sound as I like the unit the way it is. Any changes to the sound would be via the 6SN7 tube which is what I did. In fact, the tube I'm using (Sophia) gave a more open window to sound with greater dynamics and a wider and deeper soundstage without ...

Thanks ice man for your input. Being a person of sound mind, a KQ for the DAR could be the ticket. As I mentioned earlier, I'm happy with what I have. I guess one of the great benefits of BC is they are upgradeable. Thanks for the pics Gilbert. If anyone has added a KQ to their existing BC integrate...

Thankyou, I appreciate the reply. Would appreciate any further info / pictures on this subject. The idea of the humble integrated amplifier being able go into a more exalted sonic pleasure is a thought to be savoured. And why not? It is a practical solution as it is for many of us and to further the...

Pretty damn good, but......

As the owner of a Blue Circle DAR, my satisfaction level is beyond expectations for this particular integrated amplifier. My objective was to keep it simple and musically satisfying. I have had this unit for close to a year and have marvelled at what this unit has brought to the table in terms of wh...

Well Double D you hit the nail right square on. I originally purchased my first pair of Harb's in 1978 in the form of HL Mk 1's, yea, the original. Felt it was the only speaker that could replace my beloved Quad ESL 57's in a box speaker. Four years later replaced the MK 1 with MK 111's. Had those f...

Harbeth M30.1 and Blue Circle

G'day. Has anybody had the opportunity to hear/or own the Harbeth M30.1 speaker? By all accounts this seems like a marvellous speaker and Harbeth has always mated well with Blue Circle. I currently have the Harbeth P3ESR's being run by a BC DAR Integrated Unit. Reviews on this speaker are superlativ...

BC 91/92 Speaker Cables

Looking to get some feedback about either BC 91 or BC 92 speaker cables. I have been using the Nordost flatline gold series for the last ten years. Prefer a neutral sounding cable that allows the flavour of the equipment to come through. Speakers are Harbeth P3ESR's and am currently awaiting a DAR h...

John Martyn Solid Air

I have owned the better part of 5,000 LP's over the years and this album has to rank pretty near the top of the list for me. Recorded in 1972, its a rich tapestry of styles blended together, an eclectic stew of folk, jazz, rock and blues. An album that creates a mood with accomplished songwriting an...

Love these guys. Have about 5 of their recordings and have had the pleasure of being at 3 of their live shows. As good live as the recordings. The great songwriting and vocals are courtesy of J.J. Grey who also plays guitar and harp. Southern soul and r&b at its best!

From the Vinyl Vault...Dusty in Memphis

Being a longtime Dusty Springfield fan, my heart went aflutter when this double LP showed up Amazon. I already had the Rhino CD w/Bonus Tracks but this album was just all the original material and done at 45 RPM on 2 discs. This 1969 recording originally on Atlantic records has been meticulously res...
