Toronto Audio Fest 2018

Hello Everybody. It is show time again. This time I am going to wear two hats (badges). One for Entracte Audio (Blue Circle Toronto dealer) and the second one is Saturn Audio. For the Entracte Audio room, you are going to see the NSI-G and BC515 along with other gears they carry in action. They are ...

Re: NSI - the first impressions

On driving the NSW with the preamp output of an NSI, I was thinking of using the NSI in place of my NSC. If that's not a good idea, I'll just let the NSC continue to service the NSW and leave the NSI to its own devices! This is a different story. If you are using the NSI as a preamp only, then it i...

Re: NSI - the first impressions

OMG......! This thing looks amazing... AND! You built a tube rolling knob?!... Jebus... Can you ship me one to demo? I'll only listen for like a week, I promise! :D Scott. Sending the NSI-G may be difficult right now unless you are willing to wait 6 to 9 months. That's how long the waiting list for...

Re: NSI - the first impressions

No reason why we couldn't run an NSW with the preamp outs, right? Yeah, there is reason not to connect the preamp output to a NSW directly. Because the NSW gain doesn't match the NSI gain, it will cause mid-high/woofer imbalance. Assuming you are thinking using the NSI to drive the upper or full ra...

Re: NSI - the first impressions

 that’s one hefty looking unit!! Biff Your AG8100 shares some very similar design with the NSI. Remember when I wanted to go as far as you would let me with your AG8100 earlier this year. I was designing, building, testing and back to drawing boarding on the NSI along side with your AG8100. ...

Re: NSI-G audio porn

Now for those who like some audio pron once in a while. I take it you mean 'porn'. And I agree....I had to take a cold shower. he he he... Now, is this unit all attached together the way you mated my KQ Boxy? I did mean "porn". Did I spell it wrong? I guess I did. Re: NSI - the first impressions

The rear end. Three line level inputs. One BAL and two SE. The third pair of SE output is the preamp out. I put that in for my own testing purpose and may be someone can use it to drive sub woofers.

And here is a pictures of the NSI-G, the super NSI as George has been calling it. It measures 17.25" wide x 14.75" high x 21.5" deep plus the binding post. I can make it in smaller multiple boxes.

Re: NSI - the first impressions

Great review George!! Hey, can you snap some pics of the amp and post them here? Also, it is great to see GilBut offer the Tube/SS summing circuit that he built into my custom 2K4sh - it truly gives you complete control and on mine I can completely shut off the tube section (which is 6SN7 as well) ...

The not all new but new enough BC515 Digital to Analog Converter

For the past three years I have been thinking about designing an all new DAC. After looking at what material are available to design new DACs and what are currently available from other companies, I have decided designing an all new DAC from ground up is a total waste of time. At least from a music ...
