Kit, eh? I am not sure once it is built by someone else other than the few of us here will still have the same strengths as the genuine BC. Cuase' I still have a hard time to teach people in the factory how to whip the silicone right. Those silicone are not as easy to whip as they think. If you can...

Cens The term "coming" could mean a long time. I remember 25 years ago everyone was flowning on using op-amp. Op-amp now aday is not like back then. So switching amp may be the way of the future but I just don't think that will be too near future. I remember when CD came out, it has it advantage. P...

Very ture Sugarbrie. However, there is still very much to improve and do to analog side of the game. I hope people don't just looking for something new and forget about the quality of the product. BTW If Dell provide the best support of the industry, the industry is really sad. I have three friends...

Cen and Phil First of all, the so call digital amp you both are talking about is NOT digital amp. They are just switching amp. The word digital is so mis represented it is sick to the point that I don't want to even discuss about it. Cen If you have to modify the day light out of a so call switchin...

Dafo Digital amp, eh? My thought is I don't want to think about it. At this moment, I still want to make something that make music. :D Beside, most of the so call digital amp on the market right now are not true digital. They don't amplify the signal in digital domain. They only switch the output s...

Yes, the balanced BC3 has 4 tubes instead of 2.

Balance and singled circuit has no direct effect to low frequency. Both the single-ended and balanced BC3 goes lower than 0.5Hz.

I use to work at an audio shop in Waterloo, Ontario back in the early 1990 when I first started BC. Their best CD player at the time was a Stax Quattro II. I couldn't afford it back then because it was sold for USD3500.00. Last month I picked up a 12 years old Quattro II and has been using in my be...

Alsatian I am not sure there is any sonic different between 0.5" and 0.75" thick MDF. I always buy 0.75" thick because I notices if I use 0.5" MDF, something the middle will bend if the amp being too heavy. 0.75" thick is not that much more so I just go for 0.75" thick. I suppose others may have di...

3/4" MDF may be actually 11/16". Look for 11/16" MDF from Home Depot next time you are there. When I order my MDF, I ask for 3/4" and always got 11/16" or slightly thicker. Never a full 3/4" thick.

My guess would be no. I think 2 channels will eventually like LP compare to CD. Only a very few percentage of us audiophile will keep using 2 channels. Look at it this way, since CD came along, there is SACD, DVD-A and some other encode decode method which most of those were cooked up by marketing ...
