The filters are a parallel design (non current limiting) and unless I misunderstand the setup based upon your description I would say the AC to your amplifiers IS being filtered ... a good thing!

"truth in his head" Hmmmm...?

I thought is was simpler ... more capacitors (or in this case ... filters) sound better.

Tube Change BC3000-II

I just changed tubes, just EH 6922s for a newer set. I had been noticing a slight edginess/roughness that propmted me to do it, female signers not sounding quite as pure as I remembered, that sort of thing. One other thing was that I had been finding that for desired balance I was going 2 extra notc...

There is no way to convert the Thingee to Tunnel. Tunnel is a digital to digital converter unlike the Thingee. I don't get it, besides having a DAC built in the Thingee puts out digital on SPDIF, AES/EBU or TOSLINK (depending on options installed) ... isn't that a tunnel? It doesn't do hi-rez but t...

What does it take to heat up BC8-MKIIs????

Last evening I played a (mono) Toscanini of Beethoven's 5th at a health volume. Unfortunately the recording quality of much Toscanini stuff leaves me wanting ... I was curious to see how much this has changed with recent improvements to my LP setup ... quite a bit, but no miracle ... so about half w...

Thanks goodness Evil G. doesn't get out much, if he was running the show we'd be paying $100,000 for amplifiers before long!

"Just think what an FX2 , a GICPO or a BC 6000 could do ..." I'm trying to think less, "thinking" is expensive! I though I would have my last phono stage forever. That was before "thinking" it would be nice to compare against the Aesthetix Rhea my friend no longer needed. That "thinking" cost me lot...

PLC Thingee v. Furutech e-TP 609

Last evening a did a shoot out of the PLC Thingee against a Furutech e-TP 609. The Furutech is a purely passive design, no filters whatsoever and only the presence of some sort of special material which supposedly absorbs noise. Despite that it has a good reputation and I have a friend who swears by...

Looks like Mona Lisa with a beard and smoking a cigar! :P

Mind you, ignoring the beard (the raised circuit board) that 3000 looks like it has had the full MK II upgrade, and perhaps even more!
