Well Bob, we definitely are in agreement on this one ! My own NSP has "limbered up" a LOT over the last few months, I think it has finally reached its happy place after 6 months. I think that it has become more open, and bloomier (is that a word ?? ) without sacrificing the snap and vibrancy t...

Curious that you posted this one.. as I've been going through a similar mandate over the last couple of years. I think it comes down to a couple of things really, first and foremost is the financial consideration. Let's face it, if the cashflow is unlimited, and you have lots of time to play, then t...

A little late to chime in here... sorry ! Yes, I tried the 705 phono stage, and liked it a LOT, it sounded awesome playing "off the grid" powered by it's bank of batteries. I didn't pursue buying one because my vinyl rig, is well.. much more modest, and the 705 was way out of line with the re...

Welcome aboard !
Don's right.. that's a great combo, and as he said, if you feel the need to move upward, there is lots of room that pair for upgrades. Simplest is to switch up the PSU on the BC3 from Despina to Galatea... and from there the sky is the limit.. 8)

Happy listening

Yeah.. I think I'm in agreement here as well, I *know* my BC303DWBB is not as wholly transparent as the 109, it is perhaps its equal on many levels and in my humble opinion surpasses it on others, but that's a whole other discussion, and despite the touch of romance that Harbeth SHL5's bring to the ...

Yes Bob.. you WILL miss the 1022 when it's gone, but, I can tell you with certainty that once your new NSP starts to stretch its limbs throughout the (long!) settling in process, you will be glad that you pushed towards the NSP. This is in no way meant to diminish what the 1022 accomplishes, and lik...

Mea Culpa ! I missed the bit where the OP indicated he had the FLT with basic power supply.. Given that little tidbit maybe putting some $$ into a phono upgrade would be wise, although you don't want to outpace your table and cartridge so much that it shows the weakness there.. remember, it's...

I think in your case, doing work on either the pre or the power amp will yield some of the desired results. Remember, your BC3 Despina can be pushed all the way up to a full 3000 .. so, you have lots of wiggle room here. A friend of mine who had a tarted up 21.1 (that was closer to a BC3 Galatea in ...

Is it just me ... or did this guy not really convey what 60x1 could bring to the table.. I dunno ? somehow putting a $4500 power conditioner into a system as indicated by his "associated components" list seems a little off side. Perhaps having the product reviewed in a system that was either more re...

Absolutely... there is still not a damn thing wrong with the older series of amps ! I think the key thing to remember, is that NSP, NSL, 1022, et al, are evolutionary in the sound of BC amps, well.. the NSL is a different animal altogether, so.. we'll take that one out of the equation. Anyhow.. my p...

Ahh... and THAT my young Padawan is perhaps the NSP's greatest skill.. it can suck you into eternal hours of listening faster than a Jedi can draw a lightsabre !

Yeah... I know I was repeating myself, but felt it was worth adding in conjunction with this thread, and how important it is with this series of amps. :)

Keep us posted on the additional listening sessions Bob.

Some very good commentary on the differences that exist between 1022, and the NSP Bob. After 3 months with my NSP, I still find it revealing it's charms.. they are many.. and varied. There have been a couple of days where it has sounded "out of sorts", and on those days.. I go do something else, and...

Hey Mark, We all know that speakers are very much a "personal" flavour thing,.. moreso than pretty much any other aspect of a system. So, no apologies required for moving from the Paradigms to the AAD's :) I've heard the Ref7 and it is indeed a fine speaker, and yes, mates very well with BC gear. Pe...
