RMAF 2015

Post by Gilbert Y » Sat Sep 27, 2014 5:27 pm

Julian of Departure Audio and us are going to be in the Evergreen Ballroom at this year RMAF. I will be doing our dog and pony show of noise. There is going to be one additional noisy demo at the RMAF we haven't done before.

We are still hacking out the details of the show special. Since I am a cheapskate, I don't want to give anything away but Julian said I have to close one eye and look the other way with the other. Whatever that mean since I ink speakie ink ga lish that well, I can get away wif most fing wen I wan to. So you peeed pol go to da show and want a special price, talk to that guy name Julian.

To me special price can be 25% above retail like Macys use to do.  8) :D

That would be me the G-Man is referring to. Super deals for sure on all the goodies G will haul to the show. I am basically local to the show so all I need to cover is hotel cost. Wait!.....I can sleep in my car and provide an even bigger super monster discount! Nah......that's for cheap skate Canadians.
But, I will take more than my usual very meager profit for all sales at the show, both stuff we have there and orders for new stuff.
Seriously, RMAF is always a great show. Good vibe, easy to get around and hear lots of stuff, not hard to get to, etc. In addition to the noise demo, we will have the new BC 107 and a 1022 to display. I believe G will have a head phone rig set up. You can zone out at the booth and even take a legal toke of the evil weed, if that's your fancy.
Hope some BC fans who frequent this board can make it.

Hey Julian

Not all Canadian are cheap. I am cheap, many are not. I am driving car this time to save gas because at 75mph on the I80 in Nebraska with westery wind, it eats gas, mon. In 2013 when I drove to California with my van, it's like 3mpg different going to the west and coming back to the east. So, I am finding any possible way to save mun lay to further prooooooooooof I am cheap.

If you are going to give away those pipes, don't tell me. I don't want to know. :) :?

BTW The headphone rig coming out from the preamp output of the BC107. The output stage of the BC107 is a miniature version of the NSL. It's good enough to drive speakers, the little tiny brother should be good enough to drive a puny headphone. All lite, all lite, I know some headphone take 5 watt into 50 ohms to drive. Am making another one of those crazy machine as I type.

Very successful show for Blue Circle. Lots of traffic through the booth area, much yakking with show goers (mostly show geezers) about audio and music. It's good for BC to show the flag in this part of the world; Gilbert hadn't been at an RMAF since 2008. We sold a lot of power conditioners; the noise demo is very convincing. I even got the G man to spring for dinner one night....will wonders never cease.

More pics. I especially love the cosmetics in the third picture. By comparison, it makes the Thingee line look like a high-end piece of art.

While there may be some on the Forum who know what it is, I am definitely not one of them. I see that the blue power light is on, but I can't see any other parts connected to it.....WHAT THE HELL IS IT?? Is there an upgrade cosmetic charge for that exotic piece of wood? :D :P

Iceman

The third picture is the transformer we used to show the DC offset from the powerline and how a RPD15 can eliminate the noise. It was noisy in the ballroom so next time if we are doing it in a ballroom, we are going to amplify the noise from the transformer from a little guitar amp so people don't have to put their ears against the transformer to hear the noise.
