No word on price.

I'm sure there's still a need for the BC mod on this one, however.

The Technics SP-10 was the "audiophile" model of the SL-1200 that didn't include a tonearm. Only time i ever sawr 1 of those was at CES back in the day. Direct Drive tables were anathama to audiophiles. They preferred the Linn Sondek with tonearms such as the Shure SME.

It's looking like pricing will be in the $2500 range for the G, and around $4000 USD for the GAE version.. sorry, won't be participating at that price point. :cry:

Supposedly they both have new motors that don't have the "cogging" issue the old ones did, however, they will still have lousy PSU's. I'm sure Gilbert could fix THAT ! 8)

My old SL1510 Mk2 purchased in 1979 is still in service. Maybe not state of the art but plugged into Gilbut's FonLo thingee, it still provides many hours of enjoyment.
